Listing details

(CUE THE JAMES BOND THEME MUSIC…) This is a vintage Minox B subminiature camera with ultra-light aluminum shell produced in Wetzlar, Germany. The

serial number on this 4" camera indicates it was manufactured in April 1969. It’s no coincidence that this is the same year that James Bond used a Minox in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, because my father bought this camera right after seeing 007 using one in that movie! But as was the case with most of Dad’s cool gadgets, he only used the camera for a short time before putting it up on a closet shelf. The camera shows little to no wear and is in excellent condition - especially considering it’s over 56 years old! MINOX CAMERAS WERE USED BY REAL OPERATIVES AND DOUBLE AGENTS! A little bigger than a matchbox and able to focus as close as 8”, Minox cameras were used extensively by British Intelligence and American OSS in World War II and by the CIA during the Cold War. Included in this listing are: · A Silver Minox B Wetzlar Mechanical Camera with red leather case · A 24” Imperial measuring chain with beads at 8”, 10”, 12”, and 18”. · A Minox Model B flashgun with black leather case · One Minox film cassette with 8mm x 11mm film in original black plastic box · The original Minox B camera manual · Two Minox Mino

color film inserts with recommended shutter settings · Two prepaid film processing certificates (no longer valid, but valued as collectibles) · The original outer camera box and the bottom half of the inner plastic box. THIS CAMERA HAS BEEN TESTED This unique camera does not require a battery – the pull/push motion advances both the film and frame counter. The camera’s shutter, lens, film advance, frame counter, filter mechanism, and parallax compensation are all in working order, objects can be clearly seen through the viewfinder, and the camera’s seals are intact. I have seen the meter needle move in response to light, but not reliably. It may just need cleaning; but worst case, the camera will work fine without it by using the recommended shutter settings or an external light meter. I was unable to test the flash attachment, which does require a battery. The flash uses AG1 bulbs (not included) and has a pop-up shield to protect the photographer’s eyes. Minox no longer manufactures cameras or processes film, but officially-licensed replacement film for the Minox B can be purchased from Blue Moon Camera (bluemooncamera.com). Blue Moon also offers film processing services. The film in the included cassette is 56 years old, so I wouldn’t recommend trying to use it – but the cassette itself is worth at least $10 and can be reloaded with spliced 35mm film. PAY ONLY THE POSTAGE COST... I'LL PAY THE REST The camera and

accessories will be carefully packed in a box for prompt shipment – most often on the date of purchase, but no later than the next business day. You will never pay a “handling” or “packing” fee on my items! No hidden fees…I will pay to insure the camera for full value, and you pay only the actual postage cost. Buy with confidence – these are actual photos of the camera and

accessories for sale, not stock or “borrowed” photos. I’ve tried to be as complete as possible in this listing, but if you have additional questions prior to purchase please get in touch. My goal is 100% buyer satisfaction. Thanks for looking!
