If you love the look of Royston ribbon turquoise, these Navajo earrings by Geneva Apachito are among the best-made currently for sale on eBay. Materials and technique. Stamped Sterling, the dangles are primarily composed of host rock with a vein of turquoise running through it like a lightning strike. The tops are adorned with polished Royston cabochons—which would have been created from exactly this kind of turquoise vein. They have post backs and plastic shields to keep them hanging neatly and to better distribute their weight.Measurements and Dimensions. These earrings are a fraction over 1 ½ inches long and about a half-inch wide at the widest point. They weigh in at 14 grams on my scale, or about 7 grams each.About the artist. Geneva Apachito is one of my favorite Navajo earring makers. Born in 1969 in Soccorro, New Mexico, she learned from her mother, Genevieve Apachito, also a talented silversmith and earring maker.
