A stunning pair of early 20th century Japanese vases with vermiculated Shino crawling brain glaze, mirrored polychromatic enamel dragons flying amongst the clouds, gilded rims & ring handles.Extremely rare pieces, these are the only examples of the crawling Shino glaze I have been able to find with detail additional to the glaze itself. They are also the only ones I have seen with a character seal mark, seemingly for 'Fukube'. Other vase examples currently for sale are marked along the lines of "made in Japan" and will have been produced more around mid 20th century rather than earlier on like these.In great overall condition with just a difficult to spot repair to one the rims.
