Antique Brocade Fabric from Japanese ObiThis fabric is wonderfully woven with a patchwork of patterns, which show on both sides of the fabric. There are several tesselated patterns, similar to paving stones, but there's also a flower and leaf and some peaked patterns that may represent roofs on buildings. Perhaps some clouds as well. The
color is a dark, off-shade of pink; Japan's equivalent of dusty rose. I think it was hand dyed, possibly with vegetal dyes, as the dye is somewhat uneven. It has some stains/wear/fold line from being worn as an obi, as shown in photos. It measures 11'7" long by 10.5" wide.
