Larger knife features an unsharpened false edge with the blade widening to 2" near the tip, while the smaller features a drop point with grasping grooves along the back of the blade. Larger knife is etched with maker marking ORIGINAL-PUMA-WAIDBLATT/NACH OBERFORSTMEISTER FREVERT/BEST. NO. 3588-GERMANY-HANDARBEIT, indicating it to be a Forester's knife crafted by hand in the style of those preferred by Walter Frevert. Smaller knife marked ORIGINAL-PUMA NICKER VOM WAIDBESTECK/NACH OBERFORSTMEISTER FREVERT/INOX-BEST. NO. 3588 1/2-GERMANY-HANDARBEIT.
