Flying Birds in red, yellow and blue. Great Art Deco graphics. This is the large
size round Ladies traveling case, also known as a traveling hat box suitcase or round train case. They're also referred to as bathing suit bags. The ladies would use the cases to to take their bathing suits to the beach, then change there. The graphics show what looks like birds eating the chili peppers, which parrots are known to do. Condition: There are *LOSSES* to the leather handle as shown in the First photo and additional photos at the end. The case is a Black oil paperboard with brown oil cloth trim. The case shows some wear from use. The graphics on the front are in good condition with nice color. There's some light wear from handling to the black paperboard. There is wear to the brown oil cloth trim. The leather handle AS SHOWN has *losses* to the leather handle and the paper interior is visible. The handle is firmly attached to the case. You can see the leather handle in the first photo and additional photos at the end. The latch works well and snaps shut. The hinges work well. The interior is white paperboard in good condition. The case measures about 10-3/4" wide x 10" H excluding the handle.* This case is about 100 Years OldThis case is from my personal collection. I've been collecting them for over 35 years, and they are really hard to find. They are made in a very similar style to the traveling hat boxes aka round train cases of the same period. These are much better :-) with the fantastic graphics. They were used as travel cases, overnight bags, for hats etc. I was also told they were also used to take their bathing suits to the beach so they could change when they got there. Very stylish.I also have the smaller Children's Nursery Rhyme suitcases listed.
