Ultra-Penn Oil Drive Safely Vintage Sign (Used) - Rare Early

Rare Early Vintage ULTRA-PENN OIL DRIVE SAFELY Sign Single sided painted tin in the original wood frame. Approximately 33” x 48” overall size. The ULTAR-PENN lettering is done in “schmaltz” paint which has ground glass in it to reflect headlights. This was used on some early signs. I’d guess this is from the 1920’s if not earlier. Please review all pictures to fully assess condition and description. I can tell you it’s well worn and kinda rusty and crusty at the bottom but to me it still looks great. I’ve owned some very nice condition signs but I always liked this sign; it’s like it has a thousand stories to tell. The frame is all intact and original. It’s a little wobbly where the upper and lower portions meet and might benefit from some reinforcing but I could never bring myself to do that. Don’t get me wrong, it’s fine the way it is and can be hung as is, just be careful handling it. This is a pretty large sign and requires a big box and padding to ship it in addition to the weight. The shipping cost reflects that. I can’t control shipping costs and make no money off shipping. It’s more of a pain than anything else to ship something this large. The flat rate shipping cost indicated is an estimate. If it costs less I’ll gladly refund the difference. Local Pick Up is also available and encouraged. That’s about it.
