Authentic 1957-1958 Oldsmobile J-2 Rocket 371 V8 Up for auction/sale is a highly desirable "Golden Era" Oldsmobile Rocket V8 equipped with the legendary J-2 Tri-Power setup. This is the ultimate engine for a period-correct 1950s restoration, a traditional Gasser, or a high-end Hot Rod project.Key Technical Details:Block Casting: (Confirmed 371ci displacement).Induction: Original J-2 Cast Iron Intake Manifold with three (3) Rochester 2-Jet (2GC) Carburetors.Mechanical Status: The engine is NOT frozen. It has been tested and turns over freely by hand. Strong compression pulses are felt when cranking by hand and no binding occurs. Could very well be a runner as is but do not know the history so its being sold as a "Core"Included Accessories: Exhaust manifolds, distributor, factory fuel lines, and water pump are all present as pictured.Condition Note: This is a vintage engine being sold as a rebuildable core. It has been stored and is in remarkable visual condition for its age, with no apparent cracks in the visible block surface. The air cleaner assembly is not included.
