Title: Abstract of Title for Property in Weston, Ohio (1839–1945)Approximately 8" by 11.5" folds 53 pages.This bound Abstract of Title documents over a century of ownership for several lots in the Village of Weston, Wood County, Ohio, specifically Lots 168, 169, 392, 393, and 394. The compilation was prepared in 1945 by attorney Alva W. Bachman of Bowling Green, Ohio, detailing all recorded conveyances, liens, mortgages, and legal proceedings affecting the property since the original federal land patent. Earliest Record: 1839 patent deed from the United States of America, signed by President Martin Van Buren, granting land to Ralph O. Keeler and John Hollister. Mid-Century Transactions: 1855 deed — John and Sarah Hollister of New York sold the property to William Miller. 1870 deed — Thomas and Nettie Miller conveyed land to Emmie Miller for $300. Late-Century Records: 1898 mortgage by Samuel F. Long, later satisfied in 1902. Twentieth-Century Succession: Estate of Harmon Swerlein, 1939, distributed among numerous heirs (Myrtle Pugh, Ruby M. Russell, Orma L. Swerlein, Lawrence Swerlein, etc.). Ruby M. Russell filed an affidavit in 1945, confirming ownership of the Weston lots after Orma Swerlein’s death (1938).
