Dendritic RhodoniteThis listing is for a rough slab of what was sold 15 years ago as "Dendritic Rhodonite from Mexico." This is a rare piece of a forgotten lapidary material. What makes this one a little suspicious is that it appeared around same time an identical looking dendritic limestone was being dug in Sierra County, New Mexico. Whether it is Rhodonite or a manganese rich silicated limestone - it sure is pretty.This slab features beautiful tones of pinks and rose reds, with black dendrites and some crystal inclusions. I've shown 2 photos of the dry surface - it's opaque, not translucent. There is a pit on one side which I have highlighted. This slab is intended for lapidary use. It's a rare old one that would be perfect for someone looking to cab something different. *There are no fractures - those are surface scratches.
