Sibly. c1794 With 11 Engraved Plates Ebenezer Sibly - Ebenezer Sibly was an English physician, astrologer and writer on the occult.He was the son of a mechanic, born in Bristol, and brother of Manoah Sibly. He early devoted himself to medicine, and also to astrology. He studied surgery in London.In 1794 he was living in Portsmouth, and became a Freemason there. In 1785 he was working as an astrologer in Bristol; and by about 1788 had moved to London **London; Printed for the author, and sold by Champagne and Witrow.. undated but c1794. Large 4to. Bound in a period quarter calf binding. Measuring; 27cm x 22.5cm. Pagination; [5], 2-108, 125-395, [1], 36, 33-36, 41-76pp. ate taken from plate facing page 312. Condition: See photos as part of condition report: Defective. Lacking pages 109-124. The appendix lacking but retains the majority. Retaining 11 plates of a possible 30? [copies seem to differ between 25-30]. The plates opposite page 312 lacking the blank margin and torn to the upper margin. Bound in a period quarter calf binding. Back board detached, front board attached by the upper part only [joint cracked]. Binding vernally rubbed and scuffed, with wear to thew corners. The appendix attached by cords only.
