This is an early Noritake green maple lead mark hand painted ‘Castle on the Lake Pattern’ Japanese ewer on a textured needlepoint style ground with guilded and jeweled rims and features. It measures 7 inches (17.5cm) tall. Based on the green maple leaf mark on the under side of the ewer, the object can be dated between 1891 and 1911.
