Special issue medal in honor of Mendel Beilis release, 1913One size: portrait of Beilis and the inscription "Mendel Beilis", on the reverse "1913, the 10th of Marcheshvan 5674" Hebrew and Russian.Diameter: 2.2 cmApril 1911, Menachem Mendel Beilis was accused of murdering a Ukrainian Christian boy. Beilis was imprisoned on the basis of false evidence. After almost three years of imprisonment, Beilis was acquitted on November 10, 1913. In 1917, after the revolution, an investigation committee for this affair was established. It concluded that the government knew the real circumstances of the boy's death and staged the trial for anti-Semitic reasons.Please let me know if you have any questions.
