Antique F. Groves & Sons backsaw manufactured in Sheffield, England. Blade is stamped with the crown logo and “F. Groves & Sons Sheffield.” Traditional closed pistol-grip hardwood handle with split-nut fasteners and heavy steel back spine. Classic late 19th to early 20th century joinery saw used by cabinetmakers and carpenters. Estimated production era: 1880–1910. Original antique tool with aged patina on the blade and handle. One fastener screw is missing and the front horn of the handle shows a small chip from age and use. Solid collectible Sheffield woodworking tool suitable for display or restoration.
